Trips abroad

If only we knew where we were going ..Jan

Thank you Mr. Dunford for this wonderful collection of pictures from the famous skiing trip – can anyone remember where to?  And does it have any connection with that photo of Mr. Hobday with a broken arm?

Aha – hot news – stop press, etc:  Richard Hobday has been looking in the attic and writes: “Thought you might like these pictures for your Reunion. I think the year is 1974, its the Youth Hostelling trip to the Rheinland.”  If you have more please send them in!

    • I visited Koblenz and the Rhein Valley recently, it doesn’t seem to change a great deal.
Full of tourists as ever but most of them seem to come from the ‘Far East’ these days.
      Happy Days!

  1. Yes, and thank you for the walking trip round Bavaria – I enjoyed the hills round Mittenwald, the Deutsches Museum with the wonderful chemistry demonstrations and the U-boat in the basement, and best of all, dropping water-filled condoms from the fourth floor of the Munich youth hostel (previously the Hitler Youth training barracks) into the courtyard.

    Happy days…

    • Ah, Kempten Youth Hostel. ‘Why are you here now? Wait outside until the correct time to come in.’
Sadly, I can’t find any photos from that trip.
